Veteran's Day
On Tuesday, we were able to go to the Veteran's War Memorial and visit with veterans from Desert Storm, the Korean War, Vietnam War, and World War II. Write about what you learned that day, and how it made you feel to visit with these men and women. Why do you think it is important we honor veterans and the people who are currently serving our country? What can we do to show our appreciation?

I feel good inside because the Veteran's cost their lives to give us freedom. By showing them that we appreciate is to give them nice cards so they feel good inside, and say a little poem everyday about the Veteran's.
ReplyDeleteI learned that army men have to be on guard. also learned that most people make it home from war.Another thing is that Vietnam army men got tortured badly if they were caught.I feel bad, good, and mad.I feel mad because of the way people use to treat army people coming home from war how they treat veterans of war.I bad for families of fallen soldiers.I feel good because I have freedom and when people from war come home.I met Korean war veterans, the first to woman pilots to be in war,and a WWII veterans!!!
ReplyDeleteYesterday was veteran's day I'm glad that they went to fight for our country and so our country can save our country to stillbe free. They also die or our country.
ReplyDeleteOn Tuesday we went to veterans memorial in cedar. we went to show respect and to soport are troops. we learned that war is not a very good thing.
ReplyDeleteAs you may know yesterday was Veterans Day.On Tuesday we went to the Veterans War Memorial this is what I learned.I saw some of the first women to be pilots they were nice.I learned that the South & North Korea are separate.I also learned that back when there was the Vietnam war you had three choices you could ,get married,go to college,or go to war.Still sometimes even if you went to college you could still get sent to war.Since in World War 2 there wasn't enough men left they started recruiting women. Now I saw I should be proud of the USA Veterans.I want to volunteer to help veterans right now,in the future I want to be in the Marine and be a USA Veteran ,so kids feel proud of me.
ReplyDeleteTHE END
Every day people are fighting for our country those people are called veterans they give there lives for us. It makes me want to surve our country because they do all they can do to make our country free and they are why we are we are free
ReplyDeleteI learned a lot of different thing at the war memorial. Here's some of the things I learned. I think that it's important that we have veterans.I feel bad because some of the veterans died in war but I also feel good because they fight for our country I also felt good because they did it for us.
ReplyDeleteI learned that the girls that flew planes where called wasps. And that some of the veterans choose to go to war and so of them got drafted.I also learned that most of the people that were in war came back.I also learned that you got to choose to either get married go to collage or go to war. Most veterans wanted to fight for are country some of the veterans choose to go to war.All of the veterans feel good to fight for there country.
I think that veterans are very special and that we should always celebrate veterans day and they should never be made fun of.
ReplyDeleteAnd they give there lives for us and I am thankful to those who gave us are freedom and every other war that people give there lives at that war.
It is also important that we honor veterans day cause some had no choice of coming to war cause they had to get drafted when they didn't want to and gave there lives for all of us.
And again I am very thankful for veterans and that that they are all very special to all of us.
So we should always remember veterans day always.
I am very thankful to veterans that serve our country. We honor veterans because they give up their time to protect our country. Some of them even give their life for us. We should honor them for all that they have done. We can do this by showing them that we are thankful. We should not ask them how many people they have killed because it was hard for them to do those things. We can look at the flag and say the pledge with more respect.
ReplyDeleteAt the war memorial I learned that during World War 2, women had to fly the planes because the men had to fight. I learned that not all of the people just join some of the veterans are drafted. That means that you have to go and fight. I also learned that during the Vietnam War the men had three chooses get married,go to collage, or go fight. Another thing is that North Korea and South Korea are still at war. I really liked the War Memorial a lot!
I am really thankful to the men that fight for us.
what we can do to respet the flag is to put your hand on you'r harte and to look at the flag. veteran's day is so import cus it is for the pepol who fought in the war so we could be free.
ReplyDeleteI feel really lucky that people are fighting for my rights.I am also glad that I have the right to be free.I wish everyone had the right to be free.I am the most thankful I will ever be that people are fighting for me.
ReplyDeleteI respect veteran's day because people went to war to serve our country so we can be free and I salute because they are fighting for us and I'm thankful for that.
ReplyDeleteI think it's very important to support the veterans because they give there lives to make sure we have freedom and if we don't appreciate that then that makes them feel bad and hurt! Some ways we can support them is type a letter to them saying thank you for fighting for us or draw a nice picture for them another one is you can send them supplies. Now that show's support!!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen we went to the War Memorial I learned a lot of interesting and sad stuff. I learned that the girls that flew in planes during the war were called Wasps. When boys got out of high school they had three choices they were either go to college get married or go to war. When our teacher was sick she got a sub and he was drafted into the war so he told us about that and it was interesting!!
